Ti Kuan Yin Oolong
(China, Oolong) This most prized of semi-fermented teas is golden yellow, naturally sweet,
complex and dry. Sometimes called "Monkey Picked" because legend
has it that it originally grew wild on mountain cliffs and could only be harvested
by trained monkeys. Of course, today it is cultivated in its native Fujian
Province and is a sought by wealthy Chinese. Numerous grades and prices exist
and the sky is the limit for some Ti Kuan Yin prices. Ours is a fine value
and an excellent example. Brew with 170 degree water; it can be infused multiple
times.
