Organic Nepal First Flush
(Nepal/Black) This great first flush tea was grown on the Shangri-La Estate in Ilam, Nepal just over the border from India's noted Darjeeling region, high in the Himalayas. The picturesque region lies at the bottom of Mt. Kanchanjunga, the third highest peak of the world.
A floral hop aroma witha brisk and sweet earthy taste. Flavors of honey, dry muscatel grapes and wintergreen. First flush teas are tinged with new, green tips and have a brightness and sweet astringency that shows their youthfulness.
The Shangri-La tea factory was established in the year 1999 and is situated at Nepaltar on the top of Mahabharat range. It is a central factory and green teas leaves are collected from the small scale farmers in the region on a daily basis. The tea is grown at about 5,000 feet.
