Reknowned producer Aida Batlle grows a combination of Kenya SL-28 variety mixed with native Bourbon cultivars. It's an unusual mix for Latin America. She then takes this blend of coffee and processes it about a half dozen different ways. This year we purchased two different preparations of her excellent Kilimanjaro coffee, a Natural process being offered now, and sometime later in the lineup, we will have her Burundi double soaked process. Each process appeals to different palates, though many of us love both of them.

Kilimanjaro Natural is a beautiful expression of the Kenya Bourbon varieties that Aida's father planted on their land in El Salvador many years ago. It is a unique variety for the Americas but widely loved. Aida Batlle's coffee is always a welcome addition to our offerings when we can get it.
